It's been a while.

Hello my quilty friends.
Have any of you run into trouble posting? I have been working 2 jobs (part time each) and get home when it is dark and then the weather has not cooperated with me getting some decent photos. I have not been able to get out to get any photos of what I have been working on.  So today I had a helper and  braved the rainy weather.
My sister in law showed me this quilt and I knew she liked it so I se off to find the fabric and pattern so I could get this done for Thanksgiving, when I will be seeing her.
I found the fabric online and the pattern was  found here at Craftsy.
I had it quilted all over with a star pattern. I wanted to have it custom quilted but Oh my the cost!
I also had it backed with some super soft minky. Hopefully it will keep my Sister in-law warm cozy in the cold north.
I think my SIL will be super surprised, She is not expecting this, so looking forward to see here reaction.
Until I see you again, Wishing you Quilty Hugs~Heide

Mini pumpkins.

Hello my quilting friends! Hope everyone is well, today I have a cute little mini for you . I am seeing this adorable quilts all over the web. It is Mini Pumpkins by  Allison over at  Cluck, cluck Sew.
It is just the cutest little fall quilt. Love all those cute little pumpkins!
I added some cute Halloween fabrics to the mix. I have so much fabric left over from the Fat Quarters that I could make a 2nd mini. Which if I had the time I would! But my quilting list keeps growing and with the holidays fast approaching I need to get to work!
I was going to hang this up by my back door, but is is a tad too big for the area. So I found a new place to hang it and I love the new spot.
It's new home is right by my front door. Perfect spot!
For the binding I used a FQ from my "elementary" Fabric. I think it was just the perfect pick.
Thanks for stopping by and until I see you again, wishing you Quilty Hugs~Heide

Circle of birds.

Hello my quilty friends! Today I have a fun little quilt for you. I made this cute little quilt it is about 40.5 X 40.5 made out of my fat 1/8th Liberty of London fabric that the kids got me as a Christmas gift last year.
i used the free pattern that came in the magazine Modern Patchwork by Fons & Porter. ( May/June 2017 issue) you can find it here.
I am so happy the way this turned out. It is also quilted by me with a little ( okay, a lot) of help on my dear friend Diane's long arm- Innova... oh my gosh what a dream machine!! It quilt beautifully. We used a swirl pattern to do an all over quilting, I think it makes it look like they are flying on a windy day.
Here are some of my favorite little birds from the quilt.
 Love the blue fabrics.

 And the sweet!
and then this pretty flowery purple fabric.
Here is a look of the fun fabric I used on the back and the cute grunge dot as the binding.
 Its cute little birds!
One more look before I go.
Thanks for stopping by and until I see you again wishing you Quilty hugs~ Heide

On the town bag.

Hello my quilty friends! Today I have a bag to show you. I was watching Fat Quarter shops you tube videos and they had a 4 part tutorial on how to make this bag. I love bags....I just am not the most experienced at them. I have to say the tutorial made it look much so that I ordered most of the supplies right then and there!
Boy did they come fast! So this past weekend I got to work.
Here is the close up of the button and the fun ruffle fabric that I made using stitch and steam.
I have to say that stuff is pretty cool!
Here is the back of the fun fabric(RJR fabric- designer Sarah Watts- Called Honeymoon) I bought about a year ago. Love the pink moons and little teal bats.
The fun alphabet fabric on the inside as well as the black pockets on both sides.
One last look of this cute little bag, I did change the handles. In the video they used wooden handles and I preferred to make my own. Thanks for stopping by Until I see you again wishing you Quilty Hugs~ Heide

Hello my quilty friends and welcome. Hope you have having very enjoyable holiday weekend. Ealier in Aug I joined a mini Paper piece swap over at Quilt Art Design.
Swaps are fun because you never quite know what you are going to get from your partner.
For this swap I got a partner and a week later after I had half of the project done, my partner backed out. When I got my new partner Janeen sent me a pattern and this is what I used for my new partner. I sure hope she like my color combo.
For the quilting I just used a wavy free style.
This is the technique that I use on the back so the quilt can hung up.
Thanks for stopping by. Until I see you again...wishing you quilty hugs. ~Heide

Pets on Parade 2017

Hello Quilty's that time of the year again...Pets on Parade 2017. Lots of adorable pets, quilting and prizes!
So lets get one with it...Here is my trusty friend Guinness.
He is modeling my newest finish Harvest time. Such great fall colors! Guinness blends right in.

Does this quilt my my butt look fluffy?
The fabric and pattern are from on of my favorite shops that is now closing. I am so sad, the owner always had some great fabric. I can forgive her...she and her husband are going to retire and maybe go on a vacation.  This shop always included a backing with buying a quilt kit. Do any of your shops do this?
Guinness is an Airedale Terrier, he is just about the sweetest boy I have ever had.
Right now thought he is driving me a little nuts. The neighbors just got a puppy...and mister nosy posy wants to go to the neighbors yard and barks and barks and will not listen when I call him in. I keep telling him if he doesn't behave I am going to sell him to the gypsys, I think he knows I am bluffing! I Love this fluffy boy too much.

My daughter heads off to College in 2 days ( insert sad face) and her room mate loves Pineapples. I made her a cute pineapple pillow to decorate the dorm room. I love the black and white binding!
Here is a Pillow that I made for my daughter, Mia I used the new book that I got from Jaybird quilts Called Alphabet Soup.

Oh my Gosh....these are so much fun to make! It is fun to watch these come together while you are sewing them. It does take two ruler that are also sold on Jaybirds site. I bought them over time because I want to make the quilt pattern Gravity, its on my list.
